Frankly, I don’t see the same HCMC as others seem to see. It surprised me that there were Starbucks, McDonalds and all the other well known fast food chains but I did not find one street food place that I found particularly tasteful. Plus, the market was more expensive than any other place and the traffic once again very chaotic.
On the plus side, I did like the hot pot we had at Asian Kitchen restaurant on our last evening and I liked my hostel (Himalaya Phoenix Hostel) which is clean, central and provides a free breakfast.

If you arrive in HCMC, the taxi from the airport to the center should be around 200k VND. I wouldn’t book too many hotel nights here and rather head out to discover some of Vietnam’s nature.
