2 weeks of dreamy thailand beaches

2 week Itinerary for Thailand beaches

Krabi

During my second stay in Thailand, I focused only on the beautiful south-west of Thailand for the stunning Thailand beaches. There really is enough to see and do to fill 14 days, be it climbing to viewpoints, diving or just relaxing at the beach.

Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok

Enjoy your first delicious Thai meal and perhaps even a massage. I found a new Soi right in front of Hua Lamphong train station, where all the Thai massages cost only 200B and there are very cheap and delicious restaurants and street food places as well. Then, take a night train to Surat Thani and from there a bus to Krabi Town. (or simply fly to Krabi airport)

Day 2: Explore Krabi

white temple krabiTake a walk through Krabi and have a look at the sculptures that are spread all over town and the beautiful karst formations. Visit the various food markets and the white temple. In the afternoon you could take a public bus (it’s more a car with two benches in the back) for 50B to Ao Nang Beach and take a relaxing swim, have another massage and eat delicious sea food.

Day 3: Visit the most beautiful beach of Thailand

Take a longtail boat (either from Krabi for 300B roundtrip or from Ao Nang forimg_1723 200B) and spend the whole day on Railay Island. The beaches and the views are amazing, the resorts luxurious, the food in the restaurants delicious and the climbs up the rocks challenging. There is something for everybody. Read more about my day on Railay here.

Day 4: A temple high above the city

Day 5: Diving or snorkeling

Thailand’s underwaterworld is amazing, so either hop on a dive boat or book a snorkeling tour. You can also rent a Long Tail Boat that brings you to the hidden beaches around the island.

Day 6: Diving or visit famous James Bond Island

But you could also book a trip to visit several of these pretty islands, including the famous beach from one of the James Bond movies. In the evening, walk to the viewpoint and watch the sunset over the bay.

Day 7: Travel to Phuket to see more pretty Thailand beaches

The prettiest beaches on Phuket are probably Kata and Koron, so take the bus there, once you arrive on Phuket.

Day 8: Swimming or surfing

If there are waves on Kata beach, rent a surfboard, otherwise just relax at the beach and get a massage at The Beach Massage (was one of my favorite massages in Thailand).

Day 9:Relaxing, exploring or shopping

sufring in kataHave another relaxing day or explore more of Phuket on a scooter or by public bus. You could also go shopping in the biggest mall of Phuket; Central Festival, which is only 30min by public bus from Kata.

Then, take a night bus to Bangkok or fly the next day.

Day 10: A day around Bangkok

There is so much to see and do in Bangkok: visit temples, have massages, go shopping and have a drink in a sky bar!

Day 11: Day trip to Amphawa Floating Market and Maeklong Train Marketimg_1998

Book a tour or hire a van driver with some friends and take a day trip to these two markets. Read more about my visit here.

Day 12: Pak Chong

Travel to Pak Chong by bus. Suddenly, you will feel as if you had arrived in a different country. There are cows, wineries and chocolate facotires. Enough to explore to fill a few days.

Day 13: Khao Yai Nationalpark

img_2051Rent a scooter or car and visit Khao Yai National Park. The scenery is stunningly beautiful and there are about 5 amazing waterfalls in the national park. You can also spot gibbons and elephants and the air seems clean and fresh. Then, take a train or bus back to Bangkok.

Day 14: Shopping

Explore the malls before your flight and enjoy more delicious Thai food.
